Membership Privileges and Benefits
Before you may become a GAMA Member, you must become a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Doing so grants you the following benefits that are required to fly at all AMA fields, including GAMA:
- AMA Membership Card
- AMA Member Number
- $2.5 million in personal liability insurance
- $25,000 in medical coverage
- $1,000 in fire, theft, and vandalism coverage
Note: AMA insurance coverage only applies to recreational flights that take place under the CBO Guidelines and Safety Code that the AMA has put in place. Commercial/Part 107 operations are strictly prohibited at GAMA and are not covered by the AMA's insurance policy.
The Georgetown Aero Modelers Association entitles the following privileges once your membership is established:
- Membership Card
- Membership Badge
- Padlock combination to enter the field (not to be given to anyone else)
- Equal flight time as all other members
- Equipment purchase assistance
- Equipment & Software Set up Assistance
- General advice
- You may bring guests with you but they must follow AMA and club safety regulations
- Monthly meetings with raffle
- Monthly Newsletter
- Member Points that you can use during our end of year auction
